The Confinet® Server program handles all requests from the Confinet Client and Confinet Administrator programs. The Confinet Server stores (and retrieves) information to (and from) the IBM® DB2® database associated with a Confinet installation.

Requirements
Tier 1 Operating Systems
On Tier 1 operating systems, the Confinet Server is subjected to our unit test suites and other internal testing tools on a frequent basis.
Tier 1 Operating Systems include:
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
- CentOS 7
Tier 2 Operating Systems
On Tier 2 operating systems, the Confinet Server is subjected to our unit test suites and other internal testing tools on an infrequent basis.
Tier 2 Operating Systems include:
- SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11
- Windows Server 2012
We recommend the use of Tier 1 operating systems for the Confinet Server unless there is a compelling reason to select a Tier 2 operating system.
Availability
The Confinet Server is normally offered as part of a hosted solution; however, support for non-hosted solutions is available for customers wishing to deploy the Confinet Server on a corporate LAN.
