The Confinet® Server program handles all requests from the Confinet Client and Confinet Administrator programs. The Confinet Server stores (and retrieves) information to (and from) a PostgreSQL database associated with a Confinet installation.
Features
Some of the main features of the Confinet Server include:
- High availability
- High performance
- Multi-threaded, scalable architecture
- Encryption of all communication via SSL/TLS
Requirements
Tier 1 Operating Systems
On Tier 1 operating systems, the Confinet Server is subjected to our
unit test suites and other internal testing tools on a frequent
basis.
Tier 1 Operating Systems include:
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10
- Oracle Linux 10
- Ubuntu 24.04
Tier 2 Operating Systems
On Tier 2 operating systems, the Confinet Server is subjected to our
unit test suites and other internal testing tools on an infrequent
basis.
Tier 2 Operating Systems include:
- Rocky Linux 10
- AlmaLinux 10
- Debian 13
We recommend the use of Tier 1 operating systems for the Confinet Server unless you have a preference for a Tier 2 operating system (since vendor support options for Tier 1 operating systems are marginally better than those for Tier 2 operation systems). However, the Confinet Server is fully supported and works exactly the same way on both Tier 1 and Tier 2 operating systems.
Upon request, we can also provide support for almost any modern version of Linux; including Alpine Linux and Armbian Linux (or even a custom version of Linux).
